hey guys, you may or not remember me, my old username was claire22, i couldn't remember the password so anyways, next year i'll be a sophomore in high school and i'm taking the two hardest classes offered at my school, at an AP level. i'll also still be in lacrosse, which is monday-wednesday and saturday for two hours. i've already been extremely busy this year, getting 5-6 hours of sleep a night. as we all know, birds require our time, energy, and devotion. i'm afraid i won't be able to give that to them next year i'm considering giving them, their cage, all their toys and everything to someone that can give them what they deserve, but it's heartbreaking. so if someone on here in the texas area could give them a good home, i'd be so thankful. they're two parakeets (blue and grey) and an american yellow pacific parrotlet. the parakeets are okay with handling, but they prefer just playing with each other. the parrotlet (her name is sweetie, for good reason) is like my baby, she loves to be with me and will play all day (unfortunately, i can't, i miss playing with her so much). they have a huge cage about 6.5 feet tall (two cages in one, one on top one on bottom), maybe about 2 feet wide and 2.5 feet long. i'm just guesstimating. so please, if anyone in texas (houston area) could give them a good home, let me know. -Claire

Hi Clairie, Of course we remember you! Glad to know you're doing well in school and sports.
I know it's a hard decision to do best for any pet, being a bird, cat, dog, etc. and you.
Maybe putting up posters at the Vet's or Amimal Shelter would be the best place to post. They would be bird-animal caretakers who would be most likely to take good care off them.
Nice to hear from you, and keep us posted on how you're doing. Alice

Claire, There might also be some bird rescue organizations around that could responsibly place them.

Hello Claire, I'm late, but it's nice to hear you again. If you're still looking, I know Craigslist has a parrot section. This can be more mercenary than you'd like, but if you're out of other choices... and you can try to identify someone nice, discuss parrot owner responsibilities, etc. If they're unwilling to discuss these topics it's a bad sign. A previous parrot owner might be most likely to be good. There are also parrot web sites and rescue organizations. I think one was called "Parrot911" that I dealt with once, and had real people in my area who were helpful.
