Dear Forum Members,
Though there are lots of registered members hardly anyone outside of the core group posts. This is a call for new folks to post. Ask all your bird questions and we'll do the best we can to answer. You'll see that we're a friendly group and though we certainly don't know all of the answers we'll do our best to help you.
We're all over the place, in different time zones, so the chance of you getting a prompt answer (assuming someone knows it) is good!
Come on! Let's get this show on the road!

I agree that we have so many members that have zero postings, but do pop in to read. You don't have to have a sick bird to post. We would also like to hear about what kind of birds you have, stories, and pics. that you would like to share.
Of course if you have a problem, someone is sure to ans. and try to help you.
Looking foward to hearing from you ' pet lovers ' Alice

a little something kind of funny,
last saturday my daughter and i spent 3 hours washing and waxing her new car, beautiful sunny day in south florida ( sic ) well she did the rims and polished the car and it looked great, we went inside for a little break, a glass of ice tea ( sweet of course ) when we return to finish the car, well i bet every bird in hollywood was watching because each one left its own special gift on top of her car. she cried but i said it was only a sign of welcome to car ownership

Hi,
That's a funny one. It reminds me of how aggravated our daughter gets when she's driving up here from southern California. There's a stretch there where every bug known to man flies into the windshield to meet its maker. She takes it personally!

I parked in the wrong spot once when I went into a store. It turned out to be under one of those trees where the starlings congregate to make lots of noise at that time of year. The car was a mess when I returned.

i dont have a car! but i feel like posting anyways about my sister's car:
she parks at the curb, under a tree, that the birds LOVE. she tells me "u deal with bird poop all day, u clean my car" and holds out ten bucks. how could i resist that?!
another thing, about my sister, but not her car: almost every night, when my birds are asleep, she comes in and says "MAKE YOUR BIRDS SHUT UP!!" im like "they arent talking..smart one" and just when she walks out they start chirping as loud as possible, then she opens the door again and looks at them and they fall silent. funniest thing u could ever see..they are truely smart ;D

These are so funny and true!
NOW, when you're walking outside, and one of our wild feathered friends bombs you, with you know what... Now that's when it gets personal and disgusting! This happened to me last year, walking back to work, from lunch.
Another time, many many years ago, I was laying out by the pool (Texas), and another wild feathered friend bombed me! I must say I think they must think I'm a vehicle! ;D

Isn't that proof of the Gaia hypothesis? (Which I think was about nature seeking a balance and righting itself *). Nature lays her most intimate secrets bare on your leg, and you say, "yech"? Suppose that all Buddha had said when a tree branch landed on his head was, "Ouch"? Where would we be now? * en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaia_hypothesis
