I think I have a frosted normal violet cock this year. At first I kept freighting that he had been feather picked, but it is silver feathers showing up around his neck. I hope this keeps up when he goes into his first molt.
I looked his pedigree up and could shoot my bother! The pedigree stops with one of the birds my brother bred and decided not to keep breeding records. That bird ends with cobalt/recessive pied. That means it was spit for recessive pied. I REALLY would like to have seen where that recessive pied line came from. GRRRR

Sounds like he's gonna be a handsome bird if he keeps the silver feathers after he molts. I got a feeling he will. Fingers crossed. Too bad your brother didn't keep up with records. Isn't that the way things go when you think you wouldn't need them? Alice
