Sky2 flew for the 1st time. She is 3 1/2 yrs. old. She just always glided down to the rug and climbed up the long ladder we hooked on the cage for her. Well, she always walked around the legs of the dining room chairs under the table, but we couldn't find her. So, I looked in the living room and who do I see sitting on the couch? Yep, like waiting for me to turn TV on for her. ;D than flew back to her cage with no problem, just a little skid stopping on top. LOL ALL 6 are going threw the biggest molt ever all at the same time Here's a pic. of her before she gets all hyper and breaks a few feathers like she always has in the past And a pic. of the newbe we just adopted. That feather on top of his head has been sticking out for over a week I want to just comb it out, but I'm having a hard time tameing these 2 Alice clickable to enlarge

Alice, It's nice to know I'm not alone in my constant fight against the fluttering feather this season! Your birds are lovely, Regards, Sivin

HW - I am so hapy to hear about Sky2 - I didn't know you had a keet that could not fly!! My girl can't fly - she has never been able to - she would flap - but hit the floor when she jumped - we nicknamed her thumper - she will be three in january - was yours the same? So I may have some hope - she may actually fly one day?! ;D

Hi Mandii, Yep, got one of those too. ;D everytime she molted she grew the flight feathers longer on one side as they were coming in and tried to fly, but not straight and down she went. She is sooo hyper!!! I have to watch her so she doesn't get hurt. She has to learn how to turn etc. and when. like the others. This time they ALL moulted more than they ever did in the past 3 to 4 yrs. I'm surprised they are still full feathered. I could of made a pillow of what I vac. up. Glad to hear from you again. Alice

Hi Alice, I didn't know one of your birds couldn't fly. How bizarre 3.5 yrs later she will... Although it took Jimmie 3+ yrs to start laying eggs!!!
