Wow the Houston 2 day budgie show a TON of fun!!! There were 320 bird entered to exhibit. We had exhibitors from Arizona, Florida, Tenseness, Mississippi, Georgia as well as all over Texas.
Friday night 15 of us went to Joe's Crab Shack for dinner. After dinner we all stopped in to check on our birds, powder our noses and head up to the hospitality room to visit some more. A small group pealed off at 10:00 pm to catch some zzzzz, 11:00 pm another group heads off to catch some zzzz and the last of the party group close the doors to the hospitality room at 1:30 am.
Saturday night 25 of us headed off to Fajita Willies for dinner. What a fun night! After dinner we all check on our birds, powder our noses and head up to the hospitality room to visit some more. Our group must be getting older, most of use headed off to bed by 10:30 that night. LOL
The Houston Budgie Club did a wonderful job on the lunches. We had fried chicken, beans, potato salad, green salad and a variety of sweets for Saturday's lunch. Sunday was a pizza party! We had a lot of visitors on Sunday and there really were no left overs even with 20 large pizzas and bread sticks! They even pulled the baked bean out from Saturday to help add some fillers. One just never knows how many people will show up to these events.
Early Sat Morning
Birds are staged and ready for the show to start.
The show has started.
This is the start of the Junior Division-children exhibitors up to 17 years of age.
There were 13 birds donated to be auctioned.
The best 3 were put into the live auction on Sunday afternoon.
3 were put on the raffle table.
These 7 were in the silent auction.
The raffle table.
Items for sale: Budgies, carriers and Health Gard.
Retired police officer and budgie judge Pablo takes time to play with some Junior exhibitors while the Intermediate division is being judged.
