I'm trying to use Photo Bucket. I don't know how to resize these pics so I HOPE they are not gargantuan! This is the Sharpshin hawk that visits my aviary every morning. The Mocking birds had grounded him out by my sliding glass door.

Well, they're BIG anyway ;D
He's a very handsome bird. Shame he's a preditor.

Blue Jay and Mocking birds will and do kill hawks of all sizes. They go after the soft spot at the back of the skull.
A friend of mine was watching some Mocking birds harassing a Red tailed hawk and then the bird just dropped out of the sky. Mike went over to see what had happened. The mocking bird had punctured a hold in the back of the hawks skull, killing it instantly.

Kerry, the pic. is huge, but so is the hawk, you can see it better without croping.
They are beauiful birds, and Blue Jays will even attack cats. One did this to one of ours. It kept dive-bombing the poor thing and he didn't know where to run and hide. Alice
